The Road to Brugge

What I neglected to mention in my last entry, is that from Zeeland, the road to Brugge is equally as attractive as the city itself. In fact, I found it hard not to stop, as signs popped up for the Braakman Nature Reserve, followed by the appealing little roadside, farm-style restaurant in Sluis (catering to families with small children with their playground and petting farm), and the oh-so-romantic history-steeped town of Damme, with its plether of cafés and the tree-lined street extending from here to Brugge.

So if you go, make a day of it, or better yet, a weekend. It's not just Brugge that's magical, but the entire, seaside region.

I, for one, can't wait to return for more!
